About The Position

WCBS is a non-profit organisation whose mission is to collect, process and distribute blood and blood products of the highest standards in the Western Cape. A permanent vacancy exists for a Phlebotomist - Worcester (Grade B5).

Requirements

• Grade 12 Certificate
• Certificate in Phlebotomy Techniques
• 1-2 years Phlebotomy experience is essential
• Registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa
• Computer Literate
• Reliable transport
• The working hours are variable i.e. shift basis including weekends
• A code 08 driver’s licence without endorsements
• Good interpersonal skills
• Have a friendly disposition and willingness to “go the extra mile”
• Accuracy in data collection
• Fully multilingual
• Must be able to work as part of a team
• Skilled in customer services and the ability to deal with the public

Nice To Haves

• Previous Blood Transfusion experience would be an added advantage

Responsibilities

• Screening of Donor Phlebotomy procedure
• All Donor Attendant duties – Clinic Reception and Blood Collection
