About The Position

Labcorp is seeking a Phlebotomy Supervisor to join our team in Santa Rosa, CA. This role involves supervising a team of phlebotomists, managing patient flow, overseeing operational duties, and ensuring exceptional customer service. The supervisor will also be responsible for hiring, training, and managing employee relations, as well as performing phlebotomy duties when needed. This position offers the opportunity to lead a team and significantly impact the patient and client experience.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid California State issued Phlebotomy License
  • Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
  • Be at least 21 years old
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Reliable transportation and clean driving record

Nice To Haves

  • Associate or bachelor’s or master's degree
  • 3 or more years’ phlebotomy experience working in clinical / hospital environment
  • 2 or more years' assisting all patient groups (pediatric - geriatric)
  • 3 or more years' phlebotomy managerial or supervisory or team leader experience
  • Flexibility to work overtime as needed
  • Able to work in a fast paced / high volume work environment
  • Exceptional customer service
  • Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment
  • Comfortable working under minimal supervision

Responsibilities

  • Supervise a team of approximately 20-35 or more phlebotomists working in Patient Service Centers and/or physician's offices in Berkeley, California area
  • Manage patient flow, wait times, inventory levels and information logs
  • Monitor monthly productivity and report any deviations as necessary
  • Coordinate phlebotomists' schedules through resourceful and creative thinking
  • Perform operational duties such as payroll, monthly schedules and performance appraisals
  • Partner with Human Resources regarding employee relations issues and disciplinary actions
  • Hire and train phlebotomists to fill any open positions
  • Communicate effectively to internal and external customers including patients, client office staff, sales team, logistics and senior management
  • Provide exceptional customer service to all patients and clients
  • Assist in the set-up of new Patient Service Centers or Client Offices
  • Provide resolution of any patient or client issues
  • Perform, collect and prepare specimens when needed
  • Travel to additional sites as necessary
