About The Position
Sagis Diagnostics is a physician-led, subspecialty pathology group supported by a CAP-accredited histology lab located in the heart of Houston, Texas. Our lab is driven by a team of board-certified pathologists who are passionate about delivering cutting-edge diagnostic services. We provide the highest-quality pathology services to physicians, physician groups, ambulatory surgery centers, and hospitals across the region.
Requirements
- High-school or equivalent required
- Minimum 1 year of Phlebotomy experience required
- Excellent phlebotomy skills
- Clean driving record and valid driver license required
- Reliable mode of transportation required
- Proficient in data entry required
- Excellent customer service skills required
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite required
- Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions
Responsibilities
- Facilitate the collection, processing, handling, and shipping of blood specimens.
- Follow policies and procedures to correctly identify the patient.
- Properly label specimens and complete the requisition form via paper or online portal.
- Follow policies and procedures to properly pack and ship specimens.
- Demonstrate customer service & compassion when interacting with patients, physicians, and clinic staff.
- Communicate with, understand, and react effectively to a diverse patient population base.
- Follow universal precautions and all OSHA standards when handling specimens.
- Strictly adhere to HIPAA guidelines
- Inform Supervisor of daily tasks, unusual problems, or deviations from established procedures.
- Adhere to all Standard Operating Procedures of Sagis while working at the physician’s office.
- Pick-up, package, and ship specimens when needed.
