About The Position

We are seeking a dependable and patient-focused Phlebotomist to join our team at a busy family medicine clinic. This fast-paced role serves a diverse patient population of all ages, from pediatrics to geriatrics, and includes phlebotomy, point-of-care testing (POCT), quality control, resulting, and data entry responsibilities. The ideal candidate will have at least one year of phlebotomy experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a small, team-oriented environment. As this is a teaching clinic, candidates should be comfortable assisting providers and staff, answering questions, and serving as a liaison between the laboratory and clinic teams. Flexibility to support a nearby clinic location as needed is required. We are looking for someone who is reliable, organized, adaptable, and able to thrive in a fast-paced setting while providing excellent patient care.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year of phlebotomy experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills
  • Patient-focused, helpful, and proactive approach to supporting patients and coworkers
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong computer skills and comfort with data entry
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality patient care
  • Reliable, dependable, and adaptable
  • Ability to sit, stand, bend, kneel, crawl, twist, and walk on uneven surfaces throughout the day.
  • Frequent bending, extended standing, and lifting up to 30 pounds.

Nice To Haves

  • Point-of-care testing (POCT) experience
  • Pediatric phlebotomy experience

Responsibilities

  • Performing venipuncture for blood collection, obtaining additional specimen types as required, and preparing all samples for lab testing and screening.
  • Verifying specimen information, performing data entry, and properly identifying patient information.
  • Receiving, processing, and packaging samples for referral labs while maintaining specimen integrity.
  • Following safety protocols, HIPAA policies, Medicare rules, and participating in quality assurance.
  • Covering work shifts at different sites as needed to ensure smooth operations.
  • Maintaining consistent, punctual, and reliable attendance to ensure continuity of operations and support for our team and patients.
  • Providing excellent customer service, answering phones, and monitoring for instrumentation alarms.
