We’re seeking a dedicated and reliable Phlebotomist to join our team! In this role, you’ll be responsible for managing front desk draws and assisting with pick-ups or draws at Treasure Valley Hospital as needed. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • On-the-job phlebotomy experience strongly preferred
  • If no prior professional phlebotomy experience, must have completed hands-on phlebotomy training within the past year
  • Valid, unrestricted driver’s license
  • Clean driving record
  • Excellent communication skills; able to interact professionally with patients and team members
  • Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy
  • Highly organized and capable of managing multiple responsibilities effectively
  • Laboratory setting with automated equipment emitting ambient sounds.
  • High level of staff interaction in close quarters; must hear alarms to ensure timely response to safety needs.
  • Regular handling of potentially infectious samples, with required protective gear (lab coat, gloves, goggles, face shield).
  • Ability to sit, stand, bend, kneel, crawl, twist, and walk on uneven surfaces throughout the day.
  • Frequent bending, extended standing, and lifting up to 30 pounds.
  • Must be able to distinguish color and pass vision acuity test in compliance with CAP regulations
  • Must be able to pass a drug screening in compliance with Treasure Valley Hospital requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Providing excellent customer service, answering phones, and monitoring for instrumentation alarms.
  • Performing venipuncture for blood collection, obtaining additional specimen types as required, and preparing all samples for lab testing and screening.
  • Verifying specimen information, performing data entry, and properly identifying patient information.
  • Receiving, processing, and packaging samples for referral labs while maintaining specimen integrity.
  • Following safety protocols, HIPAA policies, Medicare rules, and participating in quality assurance.
  • Covering work shifts at different sites as needed to ensure smooth operations.
  • Maintaining consistent, punctual, and reliable attendance to ensure continuity of operations and support for our team and patients.
