About The Position

Interpath Laboratory is looking for a Phlebotomist/Processor to join our Float team! We are seeking an experienced phlebotomist with at least 1 year of professional phlebotomy experience who is comfortable working across multiple locations and adapting to a variety of patient and clinic needs. In this role, you'll perform patient blood draws, assist with specimen collection and processing, and provide coverage where needed to support smooth day-to-day operations. Requirements

  • At least 1 year of professional phlebotomy experience required
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Valid, unrestricted driver’s license
  • Clean driving record
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact professionally and compassionately with pediatric patients and their families
  • Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy
  • Highly organized and capable of managing multiple responsibilities effectively
  • Annual Influenza (Flu) vaccination
  • Hepatitis B (HepB) series
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) vaccination
  • Tuberculosis (TB) test, PPD (within the last 12 months)
  • Tetanus, Diphtheria, Pertussis (TDAP) vaccination (within the last 10 years)
  • Varicella (Chickenpox) vaccination or immunity
  • Drug screening, as required by designated client sites

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in a clinical laboratory, physician office, hospital, or other healthcare setting preferred
  • Experience working with a variety of patient populations preferred
  • Previous float, multi-site, or coverage-based experience is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Performing venipuncture for blood collection
  • Obtaining additional specimen types as required
  • Preparing all samples for lab testing and screening, with a focus on pediatric patients
  • Verifying specimen information
  • Performing data entry
  • Properly identifying patient information
  • Receiving, processing, and packaging samples for referral labs while maintaining specimen integrity
  • Following safety protocols, HIPAA policies, Medicare rules
  • Participating in quality assurance activities
  • Supporting clinic operations and assisting with coverage as needed to ensure smooth day-to-day workflow
  • Maintaining consistent, punctual, and reliable attendance to ensure continuity of operations and support for our team and patients
  • Providing excellent customer service to patients and families
  • Answering phones
  • Monitoring for instrumentation alarms
