About The Position

We are seeking a friendly and energetic Phlebotomist/Processor with excellent people skills to enhance our team. Ideal candidates will have a collaborative spirit and a commitment to supporting both our patients and our team’s goals. This role involves administrative duties such as providing excellent customer service, answering phones, and monitoring for instrumentation alarms. Technical responsibilities include performing venipuncture for blood collection, obtaining additional specimen types as required, and preparing all samples for lab testing and screening. Accurate data management is crucial, involving verifying specimen information, performing data entry, and properly identifying patient information. You will also be responsible for receiving, processing, and packaging samples for referral labs while maintaining specimen integrity. Compliance with safety protocols, HIPAA policies, and Medicare rules, as well as participation in quality assurance, are essential. Flexibility to cover work shifts at different sites as needed and maintaining consistent, punctual, and reliable attendance are also key aspects of this role.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum 6 months of on-the-job phlebotomy and/or pre-analytical specimen processing experience required
  • Ability to pass a standardized color vision test required
  • Valid, unrestricted driver’s license
  • Clean driving record
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn laboratory information systems
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet turnaround time expectations
  • Dependability, adaptability, and willingness to support evolving laboratory needs
  • Commitment to patient safety, quality, and confidentiality

Nice To Haves

  • Phlebotomy certification is preferred

Responsibilities
