Phlebotomist/Processor
About The Position
We are seeking an experienced Phlebotomist/Processor with excellent people skills to join our team at Primary Health Chinden and Linder. This is a busy, fast-paced clinic with challenging blood draws, requiring a confident and skilled phlebotomist. Applicants must have at least one year of on-the-job phlebotomy experience. This position splits time between the clinic and laboratory, with clinic duties performed in the morning and work at the Boise laboratory location in the afternoon. Candidates must be willing and able to commute between locations as part of their daily schedule.
Requirements
- At least one year of on-the-job phlebotomy experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Valid, unrestricted driver’s license
- Clean driving record
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with patients and team members
- High attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in all tasks
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities efficiently
Responsibilities
- Performing venipuncture for blood collection
- Obtaining additional specimen types as required
- Preparing all samples for lab testing and screening
- Verifying specimen information
- Performing data entry
- Properly identifying patient information
- Receiving, processing, and packaging samples for referral labs while maintaining specimen integrity
- Following safety protocols, HIPAA policies, Medicare rules, and participating in quality assurance
- Covering work shifts at different sites as needed to ensure smooth operations
- Maintaining consistent, punctual, and reliable attendance to ensure continuity of operations and support for our team and patients
- Providing excellent customer service
- Answering phones
- Monitoring for instrumentation alarms
