About The Position

Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) is seeking a Phlebotomist PRN to join their team in Nashville, Tennessee. The Phlebotomist will be responsible for collecting specimens, accessioning and labeling them, registering patients, and assisting with laboratory operations as needed. Requirements

Relevant Work Experience
Less than 1 year of experience
Phlebotomy (Fundamental Awareness): Has limited experience, training, direct exposure, or past experience working with phlebotomy.

Responsibilities

Collecting venous and capillary whole blood specimens
Chain of Custody urine and venous blood specimens
Accessioning, labeling, procuring specimens for testing and transport
Registering patients and placing or deleting test orders in EMR/LIS, operation of LIS
Assisting technologists and Administrative Laboratory Director with laboratory operation as requested and where appropriate as check competent
