About The Position

This position involves computer operation for patient analysis and result reporting, procurement of patient specimens, inventory record keeping, bench maintenance, and dispensation of patient results. It also includes training new employees, mobile phlebotomy, nursing home visits, on-call duties, processing specimens for reference laboratories, and patient registration, receptionist duties, specimen collection, and processing at various laboratories and offsite drawing stations. This is a summary of key job functions and does not include every detail of the job that may reasonably be required.
Requirements
- High School Diploma
- Graduate from an approved phlebotomy course or one year phlebotomy experience.
Responsibilities
- Computer operation as relevant to patient analysis, result reporting, patient demographics.
- Procurement of patient specimens for analysis.
- Inventory record keeping as directed.
- Bench maintenance as described in Blood-borne Pathogen Standard Manual.
- Dispensation of patient results.
- Train new employees.
- Mobile phlebotomy, nursing home, and on-call as directed.
- Process specimens that are being sent to reference laboratories.
- Patient registration, receptionist duties, specimen collection and processing at various laboratories on & offsite drawing stations.
