About The Position
The Phlebotomist / Medical Technician will collect patient specimens, verify patient information, prepare specimens for testing, and maintain safe collection areas.
Requirements
- Experience performing venipuncture, capillary punctures, and finger sticks.
- Knowledge of patient identification, specimen labeling, and order-of-draw procedures.
- Knowledge of infection-control and safe specimen-collection practices.
Nice To Haves
- ASCP-BOR certification is preferred but not mandatory.
Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture, capillary punctures, and finger sticks based on patient and testing requirements.
- Verify patient identity, review laboratory orders, and accurately label specimens.
- Centrifuge, separate, store, and route specimens according to laboratory procedures.
- Maintain clean and stocked collection areas and monitor patients for adverse reactions.
