As the Phlebotomist/Laboratory Assistant, you will be a vital member of a dynamic team responsible for obtaining blood specimens, planting microbiology specimens, running the dispatch area, inputting reference laboratory results into LIS, putting specimens on instruments, and performing some CLIA-waived testing. You will obtain blood specimens from all ages of patients using both venipuncture and micro-techniques, instruct patients on collecting chain of custody urine samples, and ensure complete patient safety and anonymity through understanding of patient safety and laboratory techniques.
