This role is primarily responsible for the oversight of day-to-day operations of phlebotomy, specimen processing, laboratory office, and reference lab specimens. Duties include staffing and training of SPD and phlebotomy staff. The position also involves all duties related to the collection of blood specimens through venipunctures and skin punctures on all age groups, as well as the collection of specimens other than blood in the outpatient department for urines, throats, and nasal swabs. Responsibilities include office duties, specimen processing, and performing point-of-care waived and moderately complex testing. The Phlebotomist Lab Specimen Coordinator performs all phlebotomy collection, specimen processing, point-of-care testing, and laboratory office work in accordance with accreditation standards, department procedures, and guidelines to support patient care delivery.
