About The Position

Under the supervision of the Laboratory/Radiology Director Tri-County and Laboratory Supervisor, draws blood and collects different specimens from patients as per approved protocols. Responsible for receiving specimens and obtaining body materials. Performs receptionist and clerical functions, to include compiling, distributing, and verifying laboratory and radiology reports. Responsible for compiling statistical data for the preparation of various reports and survey. Prepares X-ray folders and maintains the required patient records as per established protocols. Assembles reports into standard order and files reports according to established procedures. Assists other workers with the coding of records as per established procedures. Responsible for demonstrating the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served, including demonstrating knowledge of the principals of growth and development of the life span. Must be able to identify and categorize each patient’s age specific grouping of needs, such as those for infant, adolescent, or geriatric patients. Assists the receptionist when necessary. Responsible for compliance with other requirements affecting United Medical Centers, such as State/Federal regulations, TJC, DSHS, HRSA Standards and Compliance standards.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • At least one year of experience in phlebotomy required.
  • Must have current CPR certification.

Nice To Haves

  • Graduate from an approved program in phlebotomy preferred.
  • Certification preferred.
  • Secretarial experience preferred.
  • Clerical experience preferred.
