About The Position
The Phlebotomist II is responsible for ordering tests into the Laboratory and Hospital (LIS/HIS) computer systems and documenting Lab receipt of specimens. This role includes minor processing of various laboratory specimens. For inpatients, the Phlebotomist II ensures the proper wristband has been applied prior to scanning with a Soft ID handheld device. They also collect blood samples for specific tests, ensuring adequate volume and correct tubes are utilized.
Requirements
- Diploma or Vocational Degree Required Or High School Preferred
- Phlebotomy training experience strongly preferred
- Outgoing compassionate personality
- Good communication and organizational skills
- Demonstrated skills in phlebotomy
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Ability to work cooperatively with others
- Basic computer knowledge
- CPR BLS - American Heart Association (AHA) required
