About The Position

Quest Diagnostics is hiring a part-time Phlebotomist II in Euless, Texas. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM, with rotational weekends. Pay starts at $22.35 per hour. Salary offers are based on relevant skills, training, experience, education, certifications where applicable, and market and organizational factors. Successful candidates may be eligible for annual performance bonus compensation.

The role collects and processes specimens, verifies test and client information and orders, enters data, handles billing information and payments when required, and performs related patient-facing and administrative duties. The position requires three years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections, as well as keyboard and data-entry experience. A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Medical assistant or paramedic training and phlebotomy certification are preferred; certification is required in California, Nevada, and Washington. Effective communication in English is required.

Part-time employees scheduled for 29 hours or less per week may be eligible for the benefits listed in the posting, with certain benefits contingent on working at least 20 hours per week. Requirements

• Three years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
• Keyboard and data-entry experience.
• Flexibility and availability based on staffing needs, including weekends, holidays, on-call work, and overtime.
• Reliable transportation, a valid driver's license, and a clean driving record, if applicable.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to effectively communicate in English.

Nice To Haves

• Medical assistant or paramedic training is preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification is preferred; certification is required in California, Nevada, and Washington.

Responsibilities

• Collect specimens according to established procedures, including for drug screens, biometric screenings, and insurance exams.
• Administer oral solutions according to established training.
• Research test and client information and confirm and verify written and electronic orders using laboratory technology systems, client contact, and approved tools.
• Navigate a computer and enter data accurately.
• Obtain identification, accurately enter billing information, and collect payments when required in accordance with corporate policies.
• Process specimens by labeling, centrifuging, aliquoting, freezing, and preparing them for transport as required by the test order.
• Perform non-patient-facing duties, including inventory, stocking supplies, sanitizing, filing, answering phones, and using email as appropriate.
• Read, understand, and comply with departmental policies, protocols, and procedures.
• Assist with compiling and submitting statistics and data when required.
• Maintain appropriate phlebotomy logs promptly and at the required frequency, including maintenance and temperature logs.
• Complete online and in-person training courses on time.
