About The Position

This is a part-time Phlebotomist II position located in Houston, TX. The schedule includes Monday from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Tuesday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Thursday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and Friday from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Rotational weekends are also required. The pay range is $22.35+ per hour, with offers based on relevant skills, training, experience, education, certifications, and market factors. Successful candidates may be eligible for annual performance bonus compensation.

Requirements

• Three years of phlebotomy experience, inclusive of pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
• Keyboard/data entry experience.
• Flexibility and availability based on staffing needs, including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime.
• Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and clean driving record (if applicable).
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to effectively communicate in English.

Nice To Haves

• Medical training: medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred (required in California, Nevada, and Washington).

Responsibilities

• Collect specimens according to established procedures, including drug screens, biometric screening, and insurance exams.
• Administer oral solutions according to established training.
• Research test/client information and confirm/verify all written and electronic orders using lab technology systems, client contact, and approved tools.
• Accurately enter data and obtain identification.
• Collect payments when required, following corporate policies.
• Process specimens, including labeling, centrifuging, aliquoting, freezing, and preparing for transport.
• Perform non-patient facing duties such as inventory, stocking supplies, sanitizing, filing, answering phones, and using email.
• Read, understand, and comply with departmental policies, protocols, and procedures.
• Assist with the compilation and submission of statistics and data when required.
• Maintain all appropriate phlebotomy logs in a timely manner, such as maintenance logs and temperature logs.
• Complete online and in-person training courses timely.
