About The Position
The Phlebotomist II performs a variety of routine and special phlebotomy procedures as authorized by the Supervisor/Manager/Director. This role is responsible for ordering tests into the Laboratory and Hospital computer systems and documenting Lab receipt of specimens. The Phlebotomist II collects patient specimens in accordance with test requirements and in a manner appropriate for the age and/or specific patient population served, and collects blood samples for specific tests ensuring adequate volume and correct tubes are utilized.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred or equivalent work experience
- CPR-BLS certification for the Healthcare Provider from the AHA required
- Phlebotomy training experience strongly preferred
- Good communication and organization skills
- Moderate computer skills needed
- Reliable transportation to travel between sites required
- Strong customer service skills
Nice To Haves
- PBT (ASCP) certification preferred
Responsibilities
