This role involves performing daily activities accurately and on time under the direction of the area supervisor, maintaining a safe and professional environment. The Phlebotomist II will perform both forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing duties following established practices and procedures. A key responsibility includes the verification of patient demographic information and initials, including patient signature post-venipuncture, to ensure tubes are labeled correctly and in the patient's presence. The position requires maintaining required records and documentation, demonstrating organizational commitment, and promoting a positive image to patients, clients, employees, and the public. The Phlebotomist II will draw quality blood samples from patients and prepare specimens for lab testing, creating an atmosphere of trust and confidence by explaining procedures to patients and drawing blood specimens skillfully, safely, and accurately.
