About The Position

This role is for a Phlebotomy Representative - Site Lead in Ocoee, FL, working Monday to Friday, 6:00 AM to 3:00 PM, with rotational weekends. The position involves delivering professional phlebotomy services, ensuring accurate specimen collection, patient identification, and adherence to testing protocols. The Site Lead will communicate effectively to create a professional and efficient experience for patients, staff, and clients, handle more complex collections and patient/client situations, and support on-site staff. The role requires demonstrating the Quest 5Cs: Customer First, Care, Collaboration, Curiosity, and Continuous Improvement. The pay range is $22.36+ per hour, with offers based on skills, training, experience, education, certifications, and market factors. Successful candidates may be eligible for annual performance bonuses.

Requirements

  • Two years of phlebotomy experience required.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Phlebotomy certification required in CA, NV, WA, and LA.
  • Keyboard/data entry experience.
  • Ability to perform accurate, error-free work in a fast-paced setting, while helping team with difficult draws.
  • Proven skill with phlebotomy, including pediatric and geriatric collections.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to adapt to change.
  • English required.
  • Lift up to 15 lbs frequently; up to 40 lbs occasionally (with assistance as needed).
  • Regularly perform repetitive hand motions with fine dexterity; stand or sit for extended periods.
  • Frequent walking and standing; occasional bending, kneeling, reaching, twisting, or pulling.
  • Extensive use of phone and computer; frequently communicating in English with patients and clients.

  • Phlebotomy accredited program, medical assistant or paramedic training.

Responsibilities

  • Perform specimen collections following established procedures for a variety of tests, including venipuncture and capillary draws.
  • Handle difficult draws, including pediatric, geriatric, and hard sticks, with a consistently low error rate.
  • Obtain patient identification and signatures to confirm specimen labeling accuracy.
  • Perform data entry as necessary.
  • Prepare specimens for transport and testing, including labeling, centrifuging, splitting, and storage.
  • Research test/client information and confirm/verify written and electronic orders.
  • Independently resolve routine patient and client concerns and escalate non-routine issues.
  • Communicate professionally with clients to resolve, refer, and/or document problems.
  • Provide professional, respectful, and efficient service to all patients and clients.
  • Use strong verbal and written communication, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.
  • Perform accurate data entry for patient registration, test order entry, and billing information.
  • Maintain a clean, orderly, and welcoming collection environment.
  • Handle multiple priorities in a high-volume setting.
  • Direct daily operations at the site, following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Coach on-site staff as necessary.
  • Act as a mentor and resource for new and tenured employees.
  • Ensure daily office activities are completed accurately and on time.
  • Assist with site upkeep and maintenance, including compiling monthly statistics, maintaining phlebotomy logs, ordering supplies, preparing schedules, and ensuring cleanliness and safety.
  • Obtain identification and accurately enter billing information and collect payments when required.
  • Follow departmental policies, procedures, safety protocols, and compliance standards.
  • Utilize laboratory systems, directories, and corporate tools to confirm orders and documentation.
  • Support routine administrative tasks including supply stocking, maintaining logs, sanitizing, filing, email use, and answering phones.
  • Complete all training and maintain current phlebotomy skills and knowledge.
