About The Position

This is a part-time Phlebotomist II position located in Summit, NJ. The schedule is Wednesday and Thursday from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM, and Friday from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Proof of COVID-19 vaccination is required, or unvaccinated individuals will be subject to regular testing. The pay range is $19.41 - $29.12 per hour, with offers based on relevant skills, training, experience, education, certifications, and market/organizational factors. Successful candidates may be eligible for annual performance bonus compensation.

Requirements

• Three years of phlebotomy experience, inclusive of pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
• Keyboard/data entry experience.
• Ability to navigate a computer and accurately enter data.
• Must have reliable transportation, a valid driver's license, and a clean driving record, if applicable.
• Ability to effectively communicate in English.

Nice To Haves

• Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred (required in California, Nevada, and Washington).

Responsibilities

• Collect specimens according to established procedures, including drug screens, biometric screening, and insurance exams.
• Administer oral solutions according to established training.
• Research test/client information and confirm/verify all written and electronic orders using lab technology systems, client contact, and approved tools.
• Accurately enter billing information and collect payments when required, following corporate policies.
• Process specimens, including labeling, centrifuging, aliquoting, freezing, and preparing for transport.
• Perform non-patient facing duties such as inventory, stocking supplies, sanitizing, filing, answering phones, and using email.
• Read, understand, and comply with departmental policies, protocols, and procedures.
• Assist with the compilation and submission of statistics and data when required.
• Maintain all appropriate phlebotomy logs in a timely manner, such as maintenance and temperature logs.
• Complete online and in-person training courses timely.
