About The Position

Missouri Baptist Medical Center is hiring a Full-Time Float Lab Associate II – Phlebotomy. This is an experienced phlebotomist position that provides coverage to the St. Louis area across BJC multiple locations. Locations may vary daily. The role involves performing venipunctures and urine collections, utilizing multiple Laboratory Information Systems, and ensuring high-quality patient care and customer service. Reliable transportation is needed.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED (required)
• 2 years or more of relevant experience
• Minimum of 2 years of professional phlebotomy experience
• Expertise in blood draws & specimen collection
• Excellent patient interaction and communication skills
• Reliable transportation needed

Nice To Haves

• Associate's Degree
• 2-5 years of experience
• Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Phlebotomy certification

Responsibilities

• Perform specimen collection, specimen handling and clerical duties.
• Interpret physician orders and order tests in appropriate system.
• Perform phlebotomy, positive patient identification, and positive patient interaction, proper collection and specimen integrity. May work in outpatient lab, in physician office, or off campus patient service center.
• Sort and process specimens received by the laboratory and proficiently handle all specimens received in the lab.
• Coordinates a simultaneous series of tasks accurately, including STAT orders and fluctuation in workload, prioritizing work to complete within scheduled hours and established turnaround times.
• May perform registration, inventory maintenance, and other duties as assigned.
