About The Position

This is a 3-month contract position for a Phlebotomist II - Float. The role requires flexibility in scheduling, including weekdays, weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime, with working hours anytime between 5 am and 3:30 pm, and rotational Saturdays. The primary location is Apopka, FL, but training locations may vary. The float phlebotomist will travel to multiple Patient Service Centers (PSCs) to provide assistance as needed, including Eustis, Mount Dora, and neighboring PSCs. This position demands the ability to work independently with minimal supervision, make decisions based on established procedures, and exercise good judgment. Reliable transportation, a valid driver's license, and a clean driving record are essential for travel between sites. Mileage reimbursement is available for travel expenses. The role requires superior customer focus, open communication, adaptability to change, and a strong understanding of the business.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1-3 years of phlebotomy experience required, inclusive of pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Clean driving record.
  • Keyboard/data entry experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
  • Phlebotomy certification preferred (required in California, Nevada, and Washington).
  • 2 years of experience in a Patient Service Center environment preferred.
  • Customer service experience in a retail or service environment strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Work independently with minimal on-site supervision.
  • Perform excellent phlebotomy, including pediatric and geriatric collections.
  • Be flexible and available based on staffing needs, including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime.

  • Travel to and work at multiple locations, including Patient Service Center/In-Office Phlebotomy locations, with minimal notice.
