About The Position

Quest Diagnostics is hiring a Phlebotomist I in Blue Hill, ME. This role is a hospital-based position at Northern Lights Hospital. The schedule will vary between 6:00 AM to 6:30 PM, Monday to Friday. The pay range starts at a minimum of $18.51+ per hour, with offers based on relevant skills, training, experience, education, certifications, and market/organizational factors. Successful candidates may be eligible for annual performance bonus compensation.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to navigate a computer and accurately enter data.
Effective communication in English.

Nice To Haves

Medical assistant or paramedic training.
Phlebotomy certification (required in California, Nevada, and Washington).
One year phlebotomy experience.
Customer service in a retail or service environment.
Keyboard/data entry experience.

Responsibilities

Collect specimens according to established procedures, including drug screens, biometric screening, and insurance exams.
Administer oral solutions according to established training.
Research test/client information and confirm and verify all written and electronic orders by utilizing lab technology systems, client contact, and approved tools.
Obtain identification and accurately enter billing information and collect payments when required, following corporate policies.
Process specimens including: labeling, centrifuging, aliquoting, freezing, and preparing for transport as required by test order.
Perform all non-patient facing duties, including inventory, stocking supplies, sanitizing, filing, answering phones, and utilizing email as appropriate.
Read, understand, and comply with departmental policies, protocols, and procedures.
Assist with compilation and submission of statistics and data when required.
Maintain all appropriate phlebotomy logs in a timely manner and based on frequency, such as maintenance logs and temperature logs.
Complete online and in-person training courses timely.
