About The Position

This role represents the face of the organization to patients who come in for health routines or health decisions. The Phlebotomist will draw quality blood samples from patients and prepare specimens for lab testing while following established practices and procedures. This position requires maintaining direct contact with patients, creating an atmosphere of trust and confidence while explaining procedures. The Phlebotomist will draw blood specimens in a skillful, safe, and accurate manner, demonstrating leadership behaviors while focusing on process excellence and sensitivity to confidentiality. Daily activities must be performed accurately and on time under the direction of the area supervisor. The role also involves maintaining a safe and professional environment, performing both forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing duties, and maintaining required records and documentation. Promoting a positive image to patients, clients, employees, and the public is also a key aspect of this position.

Requirements

  • Ability to provide quality, error free work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal on-site supervision.
  • Excellent phlebotomy skills to include pediatric and geriatric.
  • Flexible and available based on staffing needs, which includes weekends, holidays, on-call and overtime.
  • High school diploma or equivalent REQUIRED.
  • Minimum of 6 months experience REQUIRED.
  • Keyboard/data entry experience a must.

Nice To Haves

  • Medical assistant or paramedic training.
  • Phlebotomy certification.
  • One(+) years phlebotomy experience.
  • Customer service in a retail or service environment.
