About The Position

The Phlebotomist I represents the organization to patients and collects blood samples for laboratory testing. The role prepares specimens while following established practices and procedures and interacts directly with patients to build trust and confidence. The Phlebotomist explains procedures and collects blood specimens skillfully, safely, and accurately. The role also demonstrates leadership behaviors, process excellence, and sensitivity to the confidentiality and accuracy of patient information.

Requirements

• Ability to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work independently with minimal on-site supervision.
• Excellent phlebotomy skills, including with pediatric and geriatric populations.
• Flexibility and availability based on staffing needs, including weekends, holidays, on-call work, and overtime.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• At least 6 months of experience required.
• Keyboarding and data-entry experience required.

Nice To Haves

• Medical training, such as medical assistant or paramedic training.
• Phlebotomy certification; required in California, Nevada, and Washington.
• At least 1 year of phlebotomy experience.
• Customer service experience in a retail or service environment.
