About The Position

This role is responsible for drawing quality blood samples from patients, preparing specimens for lab testing, and maintaining a safe and professional environment. The Phlebotomist I will represent the organization to patients, build trust, and ensure accurate and timely completion of daily activities. The position requires flexibility to meet staffing needs, including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime. Key duties include performing both forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing, maintaining records, and promoting a positive image.

Requirements

  • Ability to provide quality, error free work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal on-site supervision.
  • Excellent phlebotomy skills to include pediatric and geriatric.
  • Flexible and available based on staffing needs, which includes weekends, holidays, on-call and overtime.
  • Keyboard/data entry experience is required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Minimum of 6 months of experience is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
  • Phlebotomy certification preferred.
  • One+ years of phlebotomy experience preferred.
  • Customer service experience in a retail or service environment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Represent the face of the organization to patients during health routines and life-defining health decisions.
  • Draw quality blood samples from patients and prepare specimens for lab testing while following established practices and procedures.
  • Create an atmosphere of trust and confidence while explaining procedures to patients.
  • Draw blood specimens in a skillful, safe, and accurate manner.
  • Demonstrate leadership behaviors while focusing on process excellence and sensitivity to confidentiality.
  • Perform daily activities accurately and on time under the direction of the area supervisor.
  • Maintain a safe and professional environment.
  • Perform both forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing duties following established practices.
  • Maintain required records and documentation.
  • Promote a positive image to patients, clients, and the public.
