About The Position

This role involves drawing quality blood samples from patients, preparing specimens for lab testing, and maintaining patient trust and confidence. The position requires excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. Flexibility with staffing needs, including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime, is essential. The role also includes performing daily activities accurately, maintaining a safe and professional environment, and handling both forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing.

Requirements

• Ability to provide quality, error free work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work independently with minimal on-site supervision.
• Excellent phlebotomy skills to include pediatric and geriatric.
• Flexible and available based on staffing needs, which includes weekends, holidays, on-call and overtime.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 6 months experience.
• Keyboard/data entry experience a must.

Nice To Haves

• Medical assistant or paramedic training.
• Phlebotomy certification.
• One(+) years phlebotomy experience.
• Customer service in a retail or service environment.

Responsibilities

• Draw quality blood samples from patients and prepare those specimens for lab testing while following established practices and procedures.
• Maintain direct contact with patients and create an atmosphere of trust and confidence while explaining procedures and drawing blood specimens in a skillful, safe and accurate manner.
• Demonstrate Leadership Behaviors while focusing on process excellence skills and sensitivity to confidentiality and accuracy to patient information.
• Perform daily activities accurately and on time under the direction of the area supervisor.
• Maintain a safe and professional environment.
• Perform with confidence both the forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing duties following established practices and procedures.
• Maintain required records and documentation.
• Demonstrate organizational commitment and promote a positive image to patients, clients, employees and the public in general.
