About The Position

This role is responsible for drawing quality blood samples from patients and preparing specimens for lab testing, while also representing the organization to patients and creating an atmosphere of trust and confidence. The position requires excellent phlebotomy skills, the ability to work independently, and flexibility to meet staffing needs, including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime. Daily activities must be performed accurately and on time, maintaining a safe and professional environment. The role also involves performing both forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing, maintaining required records, and promoting a positive image.

Requirements

Ability to provide quality, error free work in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to work independently with minimal on-site supervision.
Excellent phlebotomy skills to include pediatric and geriatric.
Flexible and available based on staffing needs, which includes weekends, holidays, on-call and overtime.
High school diploma or equivalent REQUIRED.
Keyboard/data entry experience a must.
Phlebotomy certification (Required in California, Nevada, and Washington).

Nice To Haves

One+ years phlebotomy experience preferred.
Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
Customer service in a retail or service environment preferred.

Responsibilities

Represent the face of the organization to patients who come in for health routines or health decisions.
Draw quality blood samples from patients and prepare specimens for lab testing while following established practices and procedures.
Create an atmosphere of trust and confidence while explaining procedures to patients.
Draw blood specimens in a skillful, safe, and accurate manner.
Demonstrate leadership behaviors while focusing on process excellence and sensitivity to confidentiality.
Perform daily activities accurately and on time under the direction of the area supervisor.
Maintain a safe and professional environment.
Perform both forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing duties following established practices and procedures.
