About The Position

This role is responsible for representing the organization to patients, drawing quality blood samples, preparing specimens for lab testing, and maintaining patient trust and confidence. The position requires excellent phlebotomy skills, the ability to work independently, and flexibility to meet staffing needs, including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime. Daily activities must be performed accurately and on time, maintaining a safe and professional environment. The role also involves performing specimen collection and processing, maintaining records, and promoting a positive image.

Requirements

• Ability to provide quality, error free work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work independently with minimal on-site supervision.
• Excellent phlebotomy skills to include pediatric and geriatric.
• Flexible and available based on staffing needs, which includes weekends, holidays, on-call and overtime.
• High school diploma or equivalent REQUIRED.
• Minimum of 6 months experience REQUIRED.
• Keyboard/data entry experience a must.

Nice To Haves

• Medical assistant or paramedic training.
• Phlebotomy certification.
• One+ years phlebotomy experience.
• Customer service in a retail or service environment.

Responsibilities

• Draw quality blood samples from patients and prepare specimens for lab testing while following established practices and procedures.
• Maintain direct contact with patients and create an atmosphere of trust and confidence while explaining procedures.
• Draw blood specimens in a skillful, safe, and accurate manner.
• Demonstrate leadership behaviors while focusing on process excellence and sensitivity to confidentiality.
• Perform daily activities accurately and on time under the direction of the area supervisor.
• Maintain a safe and professional environment.
• Perform both forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing duties following established practices and procedures.
• Maintain required records and documentation.
• Promote a positive image to patients, clients, employees, and the public.
