About The Position

Labcorp is seeking a Phlebotomist Float to join our team in Laurel MS. This role involves performing blood collections, processing specimens, handling data entry and billing, and providing excellent customer service. As a float phlebotomist, you will gain diverse experience working with various patients, team members, and locations, offering opportunities for skill development and career growth within the organization. This position requires you to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, subject to applicable law, prospective hires will need to provide proof of being fully vaccinated for COVID-19 or qualify for medical or religious accommodations.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED or equivalent
2 year or more of phlebotomy experience
Must be at least 21 years old
Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record with reliable transportation
Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
Proven track record in providing exceptional customer service
Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
Ability to work independently or in a team environment
Comfortable working under minimal supervision
Flexibility to work overtime as needed

Nice To Haves

3 year or more of phlebotomy experience
Phlebotomy certification or completed training program from an accredited agency

Responsibilities

Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups
Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests etc.
Perform data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner
Process billing information and collect payments when necessary
Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis
Maintain patient and specimen information logs
Provide superior customer service to all patients
Administrative and clerical duties as necessary
Travel to additional sites when needed
