About The Position

Labcorp is seeking a Float Phlebotomist to join their team in Kansas, covering areas such as Wichita, Andover, Newton, and surrounding areas. This role offers the opportunity to quickly gain a vast amount of experience by working with a variety of patients, team members, and clinic/patient service center locations, allowing for skill development and continuous growth within the organization. If you like variety, this role is perfect for you! Phlebotomists may be eligible for participation in the Phlebotomy Incentive Plan, which pays a quarterly bonus based on performance metrics. Additionally, a float differential of $1.00/hr plus mileage reimbursement is provided.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Proven track record in providing exceptional customer service
• Ability to work in fast paced / high volume work environments
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
• Be at least 21 years of age
• Valid Driver's License and clean driving record
• Reliable transportation
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed
• Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment
• Comfortable working under minimal supervision
• In lieu of work experience, a Phlebotomy certification or completed training program must come from an accredited agency

Nice To Haves

• Phlebotomy certification or completed training program
• 8 months or more experience as a phlebotomist

Responsibilities

• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups
• Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests etc.
• Perform data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner
• Process billing information and collect payments when required
• Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis
• Maintain patient and specimen information logs
• Provide superior customer service to all patients
• Administrative and clerical duties as necessary
• Travel to additional sites when needed
