About The Position

Labcorp is seeking a Phlebotomist Float to join their team in Columbus, GA. This role involves performing blood collections and other specimen collections, data entry, processing billing, preparing specimens, maintaining logs, providing customer service, and performing administrative duties. The float phlebotomist will travel to additional sites as needed, covering locations in Columbus, Lagrange, and Americus, GA, and Auburn, AL. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED or equivalent
  • Phlebotomy certification or completed training program
  • 3 years or more experience as a phlebotomist
  • 2 years or more clinical or hospital experience
  • Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record with reliable transportation
  • Be at least 21 years’ old.

Nice To Haves

  • 5 years or more of phlebotomy experience
  • In lieu of work experience, a Phlebotomy certification or completed training program must come from an accredited agency
  • Proven track record in providing exceptional customer service
  • Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment
  • Comfortable working under minimal supervision
  • Flexibility to work overtime as needed
  • Able to pass a standardized color blindness test

Responsibilities

  • Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups
  • Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests etc.
  • Perform data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner
  • Process billing information and collect payments when necessary
  • Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis
  • Maintain patient and specimen information logs
  • Provide superior customer service to all patients
  • Administrative and clerical duties as necessary
  • Travel to additional sites when needed
