Firelands Health is seeking a Certified Phlebotomist for the 2nd shift at their Bellevue location. This role offers a retention bonus of $2,500 - $5,000 based on experience. Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Must be currently certified in CPR/BLS (and recertified bi-annually).
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain a positive impression of the Medical Center at all times.
  • Ability to handle sensitive telephone and face-to-face inquiries.
  • Computer skills required.
  • Ability to be mobile.
  • Must possess a valid State of Ohio motor vehicle operator's license and be insurable under Firelands' auto policy.
  • Employee must provide proof of personal automobile liability insurance coverage upon request.

Nice To Haves

  • Phlebotomy or Medical Assistant certificate preferred.
  • Previous phlebotomy experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Greets patients and correctly enters physician orders into the laboratory computer system obtaining any necessary information from the outpatients.
  • Performs patient registration duties as required.
  • Performs proper patient identification during all specimen collections.
  • Answers phones, completes requests, and relays messages.
  • Maintains current knowledge of all computer applications necessary to carry out job duties.
  • Provides clear and complete communication and documentation to co-workers, patients, and clients using all tools available.
  • Regularly demonstrates the ability to serve patients of all ages in the routine performance of duties.
