Phlebotomist / Administrative Assistant (Flatiron)
About The Position
One Medical is seeking a Phlebotomist/Administrative Assistant (internally known as Lab Services Specialist/Member Support Specialist) for their Flatiron office. This role involves providing exceptional patient experiences through venipuncture and other clinical support services, acting as an ambassador for patients with strong human connection and service drive. The individual will remove barriers to care, ensure the office space reflects the One Medical brand, and serve as the first point of contact for patients. This role requires strong team collaboration, innovative problem-solving, excellent specimen collection technique, tactful interpersonal skills, and strong verbal and written communication. The ideal candidate will identify opportunities for customer-centric solutions with empathy, focus, and compassion, demonstrating self-awareness and thriving in a feedback-oriented and growth-focused culture. Requirements
- At least 6 months of relevant experience as a Medical Assistant or Phlebotomist outside of a training/externship environment.
- Strong customer service skills, including ability to establish and maintain effective customer relationships and deliver customer-centric solutions.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- A High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Proficiency in computer technology such as typing, navigating the internet and using multiple software systems simultaneously.
- Experience working on collaborative, diverse, multi-disciplinary teams.
- A proven ability to display confidence and instill trust during the collection process while delivering individualized, human-centered, customer-focused care.
- A proven track record of persisting through change, consistently stepping up to take action on challenges, and learning quickly and effectively when faced with new situations or tasks.

Responsibilities
- Use C-I-CARE framework in all patient interactions, clinical and administrative, ensuring a positive in-office experience through patient intake, schedule management, follow-up scheduling, billing/insurance knowledge, patient feedback monitoring, and outreach assistance.
- Provide venipuncture services for a diverse patient population (pediatrics to geriatrics).
- Perform and assist with extended scope duties such as non-blood specimen collection, EKGs/ECGs, and vitals.
- Maintain high standards of in-office care through proper specimen labeling, handling, processing, inventory upkeep, and tool sterilization.
- Answer patient messages, follow up on lab cases, and assist providers and virtual medical team with clerical duties including biometric screening forms, medical record/consult review, billing inquiries, and DOH reporting.
- Perform all front of house duties including check-in/check-out, insurance verification, printing/paperwork tasks, prepping tests, and tasking to service level expectations.
- Contribute to team development through rounding, team huddles, problem-solving, and supporting in-office providers with ad hoc requests.
- Perform opening and closing duties/daily office upkeep, including maintaining office appearance, restocking supplies, and organization.
- Master technology suite including Slack, G-suite, Zoom, Circulation, RingCentral, and the Electronic Medical Record System.
