About The Position
As a ProMedica Phlebotomist, you will collect products and/or specimens for procedures and perform testing while caring for patients before, during, and after collection. You will perform pre-analytic sample preparation tasks, including centrifugation, decanting, specimen distribution, and specimen packaging. The role uses quality assurance data to enhance services and recommend procedure changes to address quality issues and improve customer satisfaction. You must be familiar with test names and abbreviations and cross-reference tests to specimen types. You will follow strict principles of asepsis and antisepsis and use leadership skills to help train new associates or students. Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of a formal phlebotomy training program or documented phlebotomy experience, such as venipunctures, effective puncture techniques, or blood draws.
- Ability to differentiate colors.
- One year of experience.
