About The Position

The Philanthropy Specialist, Grants and Sponsors, is responsible for supporting and growing philanthropic revenue through grants and corporate sponsorships. This role manages relationships with foundation and corporate partners and leads the coordination and development of grant proposals, sponsorship requests, and reporting. This position plays a key role in advancing the organization's mission by securing funding that supports hospice and bereavement services for our communities. The role operates with a high degree of organization and initiative, balancing multiple funding opportunities and deadlines.

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Nonprofit Management, Business, Communications, Public Relations, or related field.
Minimum two (2) years of experience working in a nonprofit fundraising, development, or grant coordination setting, or equivalent experience.
Minimum one (1) year of experience assisting with or submitting grant applications, sponsorship proposals, or funding requests.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare professional correspondence, proposals, reports, and donor communications.
Excellent computer skills, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), spreadsheets, and database systems.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, maintain accurate records, and track deadlines.
Ability to work collaboratively with internal departments and external partners, while demonstrating initiative and independent work capability.
Self-motivated with the ability to maintain a high level of professionalism, organization, and attention to detail.
Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation, as driving is an essential function of this role.
Must meet insurance eligibility requirements.
This position is designated as Safety Sensitive.
Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen, which includes cannabis testing in Washington State.

Nice To Haves

Familiarity with donot databases or CRM systems (e.g., Raiser's Edge, Bloomerang, Salesforce)
Knowledge of nonprofit financial practices, including grant budgeting, donor-restricted funds, and basic financial reporting requirements for grants and sponsorships.
Experience working with donor management databases or fundraising CRM systems.
Knowledge of grant reporting, donor stewardship, and nonprofit fundraising practices.
Experience working with foundation, corporate sponsors, or grant-making organizations.

Responsibilities

Gathers data, assesses leads, and develops strategies designed to realize the engagement potential of organization prospects.
Maintains consistent and appropriate contact with identified organizations.
Facilitates or develops proposals and ensures effective stewardship of grant awards.
Designs and implements an effective recognition strategy for all corporate giving partners.
Develop and implement engagement strategies for each prospect.
Independently design and coordinate solicitations, both written and presented.
Plan and execute donor recognition strategies in a timely fashion.
Regularly support and cooperate with other members of the Philanthropy Team.
Moderate to high level of collaboration with both internal department partners and community partners of the Agency to develop and submit proposals and to arrange site visits for organization representatives.
Perform other duties as requested.
