About The Position

The Philanthropy Business Analyst provides analytic support and strategic insights for the Philanthropy department. You work across teams to help colleagues understand and use data effectively, translating departmental goals into clear reporting, visualizations, and tools that support decision-making. Your work guides goal setting, progress measurement, prospect management, pipeline development, and fundraising projections. You also develop and maintain analytic tools, data visualizations, and reports that help the department work more efficiently and strategically.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 1+ years of analytics experience required.
  • Experience with data visualization software (such as Tableau), ETL tools (such as Alteryx), SQL, CRM systems (such as Salesforce and Kindsight Ascend), and report-writing tools.
  • Strong understanding of data structure concepts and theory.
  • Ability to translate departmental goals and strategies into meaningful reports, analytics, and data visualizations.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Natural curiosity and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and partner effectively with department leadership.

Nice To Haves

  • Background in non-profit, museum, or higher education environments preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Strategically envisions and leads a holistic philanthropy reporting ecosystem, including systemized reports, data visualizations, and internally developed data warehouses. Topics include business processes, KPI tracking, and relationship management.
  • Supports the Philanthropy department by extracting specialized datasets that contribute to business analysis and efficiency gains.
  • Works with Philanthropy leadership to set team and officer goals, visualize those goals, and track progress through completion.
  • Partners with Philanthropy on CRM system testing, conversion, and ongoing processes.
  • Supports the design, execution, and evaluation of real-world experiments.
  • Performs additional tasks as needed.
