About The Position

Under the supervision of the Associate Executive Director, the Philanthropy and Marketing Communications Coordinator (Part-Time) provides coordinated, behind-the-scenes support for the Goldsboro Family YMCA’s philanthropy and marketing communications efforts. This role focuses on task execution and administration, ensuring consistent, timely, and accurate marketing communications and donor operations. The coordinator supports branch marketing efforts, including the member newsletter, program and promotional communications, and plays a key role in maintaining the donor database, processing gifts, supporting fundraising events, and ensuring strong donor stewardship through accurate reporting and receipting. This position is essential to keeping systems organized, communications on brand, and fundraising operations running smoothly in alignment with the YMCA’s mission, goals, and policies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred and/or 2-3 years of related experience.
  • Knowledge and understanding of community resources and the ability to engage and partner these resources with the YMCA to meet strategic objectives.
  • Strong computer skills and the ability to understand customer relationship platforms.
  • Possess a high level of organization, ability to prioritize and possess the capacity to respond and handle multiple tasks appropriately in a dynamic and fast-paced work environment.
  • Requires a positive attitude, high level of initiative and professionalism and enjoy working in and creating a strong team environment.
  • Demonstrate initiative, effectively prioritize and possess strong organizational, analytical and project management skills.
  • Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
  • BLS, AED, O2 and First Aid certifications.

Nice To Haves

  • A commercial Driver’s License, with “P” endorsement, in order to drive a YMCA bus is desired but not required.
  • Multi-lingual desired but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Provides administrative and operational support for annual fundraising efforts and special events.
  • Maintains donor records in Daxko and other fundraising software, ensuring data accuracy and completeness.
  • Processes gifts, acknowledgements, and tax receipts in a timely and professional manner.
  • Assists with donor reporting, lists, and basic analysis to support staff, volunteers, and board members.
  • Supports backend logistics for philanthropy engagement activities such as tours, cultivation events, and recognition efforts.
  • Helps track fundraising timelines, calendars, and deadlines, prompting staff as needed.
  • Assists with the development and distribution of the branch member newsletter.
  • Supports ongoing marketing efforts to promote youth, sports, aquatics, membership, and branch programs.
  • Ensures internal and external communications remain on-brand and aligned with YMCA standards.
  • Serves as a communication liaison between branch leadership, staff, and members as directed.
  • Supports content coordination across communication platforms, including email and digital tools.
  • Models relationship-building skills in all interactions and works collaboratively across departments.
  • Maintains working knowledge of communication and fundraising platforms and assists staff as needed.
  • Supports branch-wide calendars to ensure programs, events, and communications are well-coordinated.
  • Assists with administrative and operational needs related to annual giving and other fundraising initiatives.
  • Responsible for all other duties as assigned by supervisor.
