About The Position

Muskegon Family Care is looking for a FULL-TIME Pharmacy Technician to join our Supportive & Collaborative Team. Position Overview Under the direct supervision of the Pharmacy Business Manager and in collaboration with the Director of Pharmacy, Pharmacy Technician assists Pharmacists in filling and labeling patient’s prescriptions, updating patient personal and insurance information and ensuring accuracy in the prescription filling process.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED (Required).
  • State of Michigan Pharmacy Technician License (Required).

Nice To Haves

  • Three to six months’ related experience and/or training preferred.
  • Computer and Medical Terminology experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Enter prescription orders into QS1 accurately and efficiently.
  • Creates and updates patients’ personal profiles in EHR including patient demographics, allergy information, and insurance information.
  • Counts 25 prescriptions per hour accurately and efficiently.
  • Ensures that the patient receives correct prescriptions.
  • Answer the phone in a timely manner.
  • Assists Pharmacists with filling and labeling prescriptions.
  • Communicate with providers and their staff to obtain refill authorization.
  • Knowledge of common medication brands and generic names, doses, and indication to patients and staff.
  • Collect cash and/ or credit for payment of prescriptions
  • Understanding of medical terminology
  • Ability to respect confidentiality and patient data
  • Maintains a courteous, helpful and conscientious attitude in dealing with co-workers and patients and their families, always ensuring professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Keeps the work area neat and clean.
  • Regular and prompt attendance at work.
  • All other duties as assigned.
