This role involves on-the-job training in sterile hazardous and non-hazardous compounding. Hospital experience and knowledge of pharmacy automation systems (Pyxis, BD Pharmogistics, and Cerner) are preferred. The schedule includes rotating 10-hour shifts, 40 hours per week, with every other weekend and rotating holidays required. Shift times vary to cover different operational needs. A hire-on incentive of up to $2,500 is available. North Colorado Medical Center is a 378-bed Level II trauma center and acute care facility serving a wide region. The Banner MD Anderson Cancer Center is a leading cancer diagnosis and treatment facility. The Greeley, Colorado location offers access to recreational activities in a close-knit community. This position works under the supervision of a pharmacist, performing routine duties in packaging, distribution, non-sterile compounding, and record-keeping. The technician serves as a liaison between customers and the pharmacist, prepares compounded intravenous medications, total parenteral nutrition products, and chemotherapeutic agents in compliance with USP regulations, and uses pharmacy computer systems to investigate missing medication requests. The role requires assessing situations, considering alternatives, and choosing appropriate actions. May involve educating and training peer Pharmacy Technicians, Externs, Trainees, and volunteers. Must demonstrate age-appropriate patient care knowledge and skills.
