About The Position

This role involves processing and entering new admissions/readmissions, managing and entering refill orders, and routing incoming fax documents. The Pharmacy Technician will also perform dispensing duties as needed, assist the Pharmacist in various tasks such as mixing, packaging, and labeling pharmaceuticals, and prepare orders including cycle fill and control substances. Additionally, the role includes preparing night box inventory, producing medication labels and delivery manifests, preparing medications for delivery, and managing narcotic records. The technician will also assist with pre-packing of medications and provide dispensing assistance under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist. Key responsibilities include processing daily workflow for timely medication delivery, assisting with inventory control and participating in quarterly physical inventory counts. Effective communication with supervisors and colleagues, maintaining proficiency with computer systems, demonstrating accuracy and thoroughness, and upholding confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations are essential. Adherence to the Employee Standards and Code of Conduct, company policies, and state and federal regulations is required. Attendance at meetings and in-services is also expected.

Requirements

  • Work requires knowledge of the pharmacy industry, Medicaid Regulations, CMS and other state/federal regulations

  • Maintaining an established work schedule

  • One (2) to three (3) years of pharmacy technician experience
  • Framework LTC Software System
  • Framework ECM Software System
  • Active Tennessee Board of Pharmacy Technician Registration required
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Working safely and follow safety rule
  • Report unsafe working conditions and behavior
  • Take reasonable and prudent actions to prevent others from engaging in unsafe practices

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of pharmacy technician program preferred
  • Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) preferred
  • Must complete continuing education in pharmacy-related topics as required to maintain certification

Responsibilities

  • Process and enter new admissions/readmissions

  • Provide dispensing assistance under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist
  • Process daily workflow to provide timely and efficient medication delivery
  • Assist with inventory control
  • Actively participate in quarterly physical inventory count
  • Communicate information effectively to supervisor and others in a timely matter
  • Maintain proficiency with computer systems
  • Effectively demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness and continually strive to improve quality standards
  • Maintain confidentiality of work related information and materials in compliance with HIPAA regulations
  • Adhere to the principles of the Employee Standards and Code of Conduct and reports any violations
  • Knowledgeable and compliant with current company policies and procedures and state and federal regulations
