This role involves assisting patients with prescription drop-offs, ensuring accurate patient and insurance information is captured and entered into the computer system. The Pharmacy Technician will communicate with insurance carriers for payment, assist the pharmacist in dispensing medications in compliance with regulations and company policies, and help with filling and labeling prescriptions. They will also communicate with prescribers for new or refill prescriptions and participate in a team-based approach to medication management. Key duties include verifying prescription accuracy at the point of sale, managing pharmacy inventory by monitoring stock, placing orders, verifying receipts, and removing outdated drugs. The technician will also complete supply requisitions, answer phones promptly, respond to routine inquiries, and refer calls as needed. Compounding ointments and creams under supervision, pre-packaging bulk medications, and assisting other pharmacy staff are also part of the responsibilities. Maintaining workflow, a clean work area, and staying aware of developments in the pharmaceutical field are crucial. Marginal duties include assisting with Quality Assurance and Quality Control activities, keeping statistical records, and performing other assigned duties.
