Are you seeking a position with growth and purpose? CVS Health has an exciting opportunity in Mount Prospect, IL for a Pharmacy Technician to be a part of our Mail Order Pharmacy team! A Pharmacy Technician is essential to ensuring patients receive their medications in a timely manner. As part of the team, you will have an important, uniquely rewarding role putting your Pharmacy Technician skills and experience to work in a closed-door pharmacy setting. You will make a difference by excelling in a complex, high impact dispensing role positively impacting the lives of others. You will collaborate with a team of talented individuals in a concerted team effort under the direct supervision of Team Leads and Pharmacy Supervisors. The ideal candidate will possess high elevated levels of reliability, accuracy, professionalism, team orientation, and critical thinking skills.

Requirements

  • Verifiable high school diploma or GED required
  • Illinois Pharmacy Technician License (IDFPR) and, Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification through PTCB or ExCPT through NHA required for all those licensed after 2008. Newly licensed Technicians have 2 years from license effective date to obtain their certification.
  • Ability to speak, read, and understand English.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to reach/twist/turn/bend/stoop/walk and lift up to 40 pounds.
  • Detail focused and task orientated.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Regular and predictable attendance.
  • Work mandatory overtime when needed based on business needs.
  • Must be willing to submit to pre-employment screening.
  • Basic computer proficiency

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician
  • Formal Pharmacy Technician training or Pharmacy Tech experience
  • Experience working in a Mail Order Pharmacy
  • Certified Pharmacy Technician prior to 2024

Responsibilities

  • Manual filling and packing
  • Fill medications for automated machines
  • Quality Sampling of medications from automated machine
  • Packing orders using automated packing machinery
  • Support the shipping handler functions such as manually metering packages and placement of packages to be sorted for shipment.
