Job Description: Essential Duties and Responsibilities Prepare and mix IV medications according to physician orders and facility protocols. Measure and reconstitute medications accurately to achieve the required concentration and dosage. Label medications properly, ensuring all relevant information (e.g., patient, dosage, preparation date) is included. Assist physicians by verifying orders, resolving discrepancies, and clarifying prescriptions as needed. Monitor and manage IV medication inventory to ensure availability of necessary supplies. Ensure proper storage conditions are maintained for medications, including temperature controls. Handle, package, and deliver IV medications safely to appropriate departments. Adhere to safety protocols when handling hazardous medications and follow proper disposal procedures. Keep accurate records of all medication preparations and transactions for tracking and compliance. Consistently meet productivity and quality standards while maintaining good attendance. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Registered Pharmacy Technician in the state of Florida or PTCB certification required.
  • At least 2 years of experience working in a pharmacy or healthcare setting.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in medication preparation.
  • Organizational and time management skills to handle multiple priorities effectively.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Effective communication skills to coordinate with pharmacists and other healthcare professionals.
  • Comfortable handling hazardous medications with appropriate safety measures.
  • Knowledge of IV medication protocols and dosage calculations.
  • Ability to stay focused and productive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Positive attitude with a commitment to high-quality patient care.
  • Physical ability to stand for long periods and perform repetitive tasks.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with IV medications and preparation protocols preferred.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Excel experience preferred).
  • Experience with pharmacy software or medication management systems is a plus.
