About The Position

The Bureau of Public Health Clinics (BPHC) mission is to promote a healthy community by providing New Yorkers with the resources needed to make informed and empowered health decisions; identify and treat tuberculosis and provide immunization and sexual health services regardless of ability to pay or immigration status. BPHC provides direct clinic services to people seeking health care; monitors disease trends; provides education and training to service providers and community groups; conducts research; and develops policies and programs to deliver high-quality clinical care which best serve New Yorkers. BPHC is seeking to hire a Pharmacy Technician. This position will work closely with the Director of Pharmacy.

Requirements

  • A valid license to practice as a Registered Pharmacy Technician issued by the New York State Education Department (NYSED).

Responsibilities

  • Assist pharmacists in training, supervision of pharmacy technician staff.
  • Provide technical guidance to pharmacy technicians.
  • Evaluate documentation accuracy and performance efficiency of other pharmacy technicians.
  • Prepare specialized dispensing and inventory reports as assigned.
  • As assigned, investigate medication discrepancies and determine corrective actions.
  • Support pharmacist with Quality assurance projects as assigned.
