Requirements

  • Certified Pharmacy Technician with a valid New York State license.
  • Strong understanding of dosage administration, measurement, chemical compounds, and medical brands.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and pharmacy information systems.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills with a customer-focused approach.
  • Ability to manage a high-volume workload with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in specialty or high-volume retail pharmacy.
  • Willingness to complete approximately 4 weeks of training at our Port Jefferson, NY location.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor pharmaceutical stock, anticipate medication needs, place and track orders, verify deliveries, and remove expired products.
  • Maintain a clean and compliant pharmacy environment by following all procedures, rules, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Follow established protocols to protect patients, colleagues, and yourself from potential health risks.
  • Read prescriptions and EMR orders, prepare labels, calculate quantities, and organize medications for pharmacist verification.
  • Accurately document charges, maintain billing records, and ensure compliance with reporting standards.
  • Distribute prepared medications to patients or appropriate departments in a timely manner.
  • Collect and summarize pharmacy data to assist in operational tracking and compliance efforts.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and assist in related tasks to ensure smooth daily operations.
