About The Position

Mixlab, a growing veterinary compounding pharmacy, is seeking a Pharmacy Technician for its Milwaukee pharmacy. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented and driven to provide excellent service to customers and their pets. This role is crucial for ensuring smooth operations in Wisconsin and establishing Mixlab as a dependable resource for customers and veterinarians. This is a full-time, hourly position. Applicants must have completed a Board of Pharmacy approved pharmacy technician training program.

Requirements

  • Completion of a Board of Pharmacy approved pharmacy technician training program.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a compounding pharmacy, fulfillment, or retail role.
  • Customer-focused (pet-focused) mindset.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Ability to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Collaborative team-player attitude.
  • All-hands-on-deck attitude with the ability to remain calm and excel under pressure.
  • Ability to learn and adapt to new processes and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare orders by confirming customer data, compounding, filling, and labeling medications, and packing orders.
  • Ensure accuracy of patient information and records, updating as necessary.
  • Handle customer interactions professionally and courteously.
  • Collaborate with pharmacists to resolve issues, work on special projects to enhance quality and efficiency, and ensure smooth operations.
  • Maintain accurate records and monitor inventory levels according to state and federal regulations and company policies.
  • Keep the work area organized and maintain the pharmacy's appearance.
  • Cross-train in other Mixlab functions such as customer service, logistics, and processing.
  • Improve the pet parent experience by recommending digital process changes and troubleshooting issues.
  • Consistently meet standards for accuracy and potency.
  • Package and label prescriptions, including bulk medications.
  • Monitor inventory levels, re-order low stock or expiring chemicals, and receive new inventory.
  • Adhere to USP guidelines for non-sterile compounding.
  • Assist team members and problem-solve with pharmacist support.
