About The Position

Cardinal Health Innovative Delivery Solutions, a leader in providing pharmacy services to hospitals and outpatient pharmacies, is seeking a PRN Pharmacy Technician for PAM Specialty Hospitals of Victoria. This role involves providing as-needed coverage for the Southeast location and potentially other facilities in Victoria. The Pharmacy Technician will play a crucial role in managing pharmaceutical inventory, processing physician orders, and ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of medications and supplies within a hospital setting. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Licensed pharmacy technician in Texas or ability to obtain licensure.
  • IV certified or ability to obtain certification.
  • PTCB certification highly preferred.
  • In-patient/hospital experience preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to use technology such as computers, smart phones and tablets.
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 35 pounds.
  • Ability to bend, reach, stoop, lift and stand for entire shift
  • Vendor Credentialing may be required

Nice To Haves

  • PTCB certification highly preferred.
  • In-patient/hospital experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assists pharmacists in filling prescription orders as permitted by State Boards of Pharmacy.
  • Prepares medication for dispensing, packaging and shipment.
  • Takes inventory, places orders, checks in drugs and supplies, stocks shelves and removes out of date items from the inventory.
  • Enters medical supply orders in pharmacy system.
  • Communicates with all customers (patients, clinics, care-givers, physicians) in an amicable and professional manner.
  • Processes returned medications from the facility for credit or destruction.
  • Inputs patient data and prescription information into the pharmacy information management system.
  • Maintains knowledge of and abides by all applicable pharmacy laws and regulations.
  • Other duties as assigned.
