PRN Pharmacy Technician
About The Position
The Pharmacy Technician position is responsible for preparing medications for patient consumption under the general supervision of the licensed pharmacist and in accordance with departmental procedures. This job operates in the health care setting. It requires standing and walking to storage shelves and filling counter to fill prescriptions, as well as the out window for customer service for the duration of the shift. Scrubs or business casual dress is required. Pharmacy technician that will be PRN when we have staff that are out on PTO. They will be running the register, typing prescriptions, filling prescriptions, and Nursing home cassettes.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED

- Prior retail pharmacy experience
- Pharmacy technician certification
- Medication knowledge
- Bilingual (English/Spanish)
Responsibilities
- Performs duties assigned by the licensed pharmacist.
- Assists the patients by greeting them in person and on the phone, answering questions and requests, and referring inquiries to the pharmacist.
- Maintains inventory by checking pharmaceutical stock to determine inventory levels, anticipating needed medications and supplies, placing and expediting orders, verifying receipt, and removing outdated drugs.
- Maintains a clean and safe pharmacy by complying with procedures, rules and regulations.
- Processing prescriptions, including validation of the prescription, interpretation, data entry, processing through insurance, and filling prior to the pharmacist final verification.
- Maintains records by filing prescriptions in accordance with the federal rules and regulations.
